A few pics from my first wedding this season...

My wedding season has finally started!! I shot Nicole & Steve's wedding with my sister on Saturday. They had a small ceremony at her grandmother's house. They were a blast to work with. Nicole is really sweet! Steve just got back like a week ago from Iraq. They had the perfect weather and everything for their outside wedding! Here are a few pics from their wedding.

Got a new haircut today!!

After seeing Jen's hair, I wanted mine cut like that! If you look at her engagement pictures in my previous post, you will see what I'm talking about. Jen is like the Jennifer Aniston of hair! :) Well I liked her hair so much, I got the name of her salon and stylist and finally got an appointment!! This girl is good!! Her name is Cassie and she works at Modern Salon & Spa at Phillips Place.

Got a new piece of glass today..

I came home to a box from my good friends at Amazon.com today. I love getting things in the mail. And I love shopping online! I probably buy more stuff online than I do at regular stores.
Ok so back to the goodies...I received a new lens! It was super affordable, so I thought why not buy it and try it out. It is a 50mm 1.8 lens. The 1.8 will be great for low light situations and I also love the way it blurs the background. My other lens that I use the most is a 2.8, so now I'm gaining another stop.
Here are some test photos that I did with it tonight....

Portrait session...

I did this session with my niece on Sunday. She looked so cute in her new outfit!! She thought she looked really sassy!! She hates getting her pictures made!! It was really hard getting her to take a few pictures!! She kept asking if we were through and how many more pictures she had to take. At one point I told her only 90 more to go and she about started crying!! I then had to reassure her I was just joking! :P

New engagement pictures...

I shot Jennie & Josh's engagement pictures on Sunday. Jennie is my best friend's old roommate. They are a really cute couple and you can tell how much they love each other!

They are getting married the end of May. They like to be spontaneous & wait until the last minute! They don't even have their honeymoon planned yet! I told them I would go crazy if I didn't have a plan for everything. Now, I just have to make sure Jennie gets into the studio so she can get her formal bridal done before the wedding! :-P
Here is a little tease of their session...

Oil Portraits...

Oil enhancements are a really awesome way to enhance your wall portraits. I picked up another studio sample yesterday. I wanted one of the beach scene to hang on the walls. This picture is so gorgeous!! If you really want to make a statement with your portraits, be sure to have it oiled enhanced.
This was the picture I had oiled...

Twins!!!

Here are some of my fave collages that I did with the twins' pictures. These girls were a handful! They were going full speed ahead and it was tough to get them to stay still for a few seconds!

Baby Albums...

I'm really excited to start offering baby albums now! I'm going to offer a watch me grow type of baby plan for these. We can do 3 or 4 different sessions and then afterwards, make an album from the different sessions. Here is the album I designed for April. We just did two sessions for her--the maternity and then when Kyndall was 6 weeks old. I wanted to get Kyndall in when she was around 2-3 weeks old, but it didn't work out. Kyndall is only 6 weeks old in these pics and could hold her head up!! That was just unbelievable to me because I've never seen a baby do that before at such a young age!
Here are a few pages from the book...click the link to view the whole album. http://www.heatherhouston.com/aprilalbum

Jen & Ryan's Engagement Pics...

I had a lot of fun shooting Jen & Ryan's engagement session on Good Friday! It really was a Good Friday!! They are such a cute couple and Jen has the best hair! I plan to make an appointment with her stylist! Although, I'm sure my hair won't look quite as good! They are getting married in May at the Peninsula Yacht club. It was really funny because the two engagement session I shot on Friday are both getting married there! Here are a few of my faves from their session...Enjoy!

Justin kept cracking me up during the shoot!! He is a very funny guy!! I know that their wedding is going to be really fun! And I haven't forgotten about his "special" request! They have a traditional shot that they take at weddings....A pic of all the guys wrestling! This is going to be cool!! Here are some faves from their session...

Europe pics I took while backpacking last summer...

Last summer, I backpacked over a few countries in Europe. It was a great experience & I had a ton of fun! I only took my little point & shoot digi cam, because all my camera equipment would have taken up the whole backpack! I got some great shots and even had some enlarged for my friend. These are the pics that I went with to decorate our new house. It was a tough decision choosing because there are so many good ones!
